Push The Envelope - StoryBoard

The starting point of Push The Envelope was the idea of the police woman trapped in her office due to her sex in a male dominated work force! The inspiring phrases being 'push the envelope' & 'black comedy', with a twist card of 'silent film with no subtitles'.

The original idea was to play on her out smarting the men & creating crimes in an attempt to make fools of them... However it went completely in the opposite direction in the end...

I didn't have a specific storyline in mind when thinking about this idea, so I was struggling for an narrative. So I completely twisted it. The story begins with the female lead being portrayed as filled with boredom with her repetitive job of paper pushing (this is where pushing the envelope came in!). Dreaming of being able to fight crime but held back by her sex, one day she flips!! Cue angry female on the rampage. Her terrified male colleagues hand over gun to keep her quiet & the office environment happy, leading to not so happy consequences...

The end result was befitting of the black comedy, with some sexist jokes & an ironic outcome.
